2. Include dimensions. Give the thickness, width, and length. For flooring, the square footage is enough. For beams, give the cross-section and length.
3. Specify the finish. Rough, skip-planed, or S4S? Tongue-and-groove or shiplap? Ask partner suppliers what is available, as finish affects pricing.
4. State your quantity. Board feet, linear feet, or square feet are all fine. Use whichever is easiest for you.
