Our Fleet

Built to Move Lumber

We are not a general freight company with lumber on the side. Our entire fleet is purpose-built for hauling, delivering, and placing wood products.

Flatbed Trucks

Our fleet of flatbed trucks handles everything from small residential orders to full commercial loads. Open-deck design allows easy loading of oversized timbers and beams.

Up to 10,000 lbs per load

Forklift Service

Every delivery truck carries a mounted forklift or we bring a separate unit for job-site unloading. We place your lumber exactly where you need it — no hand-carrying required.

Fork capacity: 5,000 lbs

Boom Truck

For heavy beams and timbers that need to be placed at height or in tight spaces, our boom truck provides precise placement with a hydraulic crane.

Boom reach: 40 feet, 3,000 lb capacity

Enclosed Transport

Finished and custom-fabricated pieces that need protection from weather are transported in enclosed trailers to arrive in pristine condition.

Climate-controlled for sensitive loads

What We Roll With

Our fleet is sized and equipped specifically for lumber transportation. Whether your order is a handful of boards for a shelf project or a full semi-load for a commercial installation, we have the right vehicle for the job.

16-Foot Flatbed Truck

Our most common delivery vehicle. Handles loads up to 6,000 lbs with a mounted forklift for on-site unloading. Nimble enough for residential driveways and tight urban job sites. Ideal for orders up to 1,500 board feet.

24-Foot Flatbed Truck

For larger orders and longer timbers. Carries up to 10,000 lbs and accommodates material up to 24 feet long without overhang. Piggyback forklift for job-site placement. Ideal for 1,500-5,000 board feet.

Boom Truck (40-Foot Reach)

Hydraulic crane mounted on a flatbed chassis. Places heavy beams through upper-floor windows, onto rooftops, and over fences. 3,000 lb lift capacity at full extension. Required for timbers over 500 lbs or elevated placement.

Semi-Trailer (53-Foot)

For full-scale commercial deliveries, multi-project loads, and out-of-state shipments. Carries up to 45,000 lbs. Used for large deconstruction pickups and commercial project deliveries exceeding 5,000 board feet.

Enclosed Box Truck

Climate-controlled enclosed transport for finished fabrication pieces, kiln-dried material, and sensitive items that require weather protection during transit. Blanket-wrap service included.

On-Site Procedures

Loading & Unloading: What to Expect

Our drivers are trained lumber handlers, not just truck operators. They understand how to move reclaimed wood without damaging it, how to navigate job sites safely, and how to place material exactly where you need it.

Pre-Arrival Communication

Your driver calls or texts 30 minutes before arrival with an ETA. If there are access concerns (gate codes, construction staging, specific entry points), communicate these when scheduling.

Site Assessment on Arrival

Before unloading, the driver assesses the placement location for safety — overhead power lines, ground conditions, slopes, and clearance. If the designated spot is unsafe, the driver will suggest alternatives.

Forklift Unloading

Material is unloaded by forklift and placed at your specified location. Our forklifts operate on solid ground — gravel, asphalt, or concrete. For soft ground (lawn, mud), we lay plywood sheets to distribute weight and protect turf.

Boom Placement

For heavy beams and timbers requiring elevated placement, our boom operator coordinates with your on-site team. Beams can be placed through windows, over fences, onto second-floor decks, and into tight interior spaces with proper access.

Stacking and Protection

Material is stacked with stickers (spacer strips) between layers for air circulation and weight distribution. If rain is expected, we can tarp the stack or place it under cover at your direction.

Material Protection

Packaging & Protection During Transit

We invest in proper packaging because reclaimed lumber is irreplaceable — every board has history that cannot be re-created if damaged. Here's how we protect your material.

Standard Strapping

All lumber loads are secured with steel or polyester strapping to prevent shifting during transport. Boards are stacked flat, separated by stickers for air flow, and strapped at 4-foot intervals.

Best for: Rough lumber, dimensional stock, framing material

Corner Protectors

Plastic or cardboard corner protectors are placed at all strapping points to prevent edge damage from strap pressure. Standard on all milled and surfaced material.

Best for: S4S lumber, flooring, finished boards

Shrink Wrap

Full shrink-wrap coverage protects material from rain, road spray, and airborne debris during transport. Essential for kiln-dried material that must arrive at target moisture content.

Best for: Kiln-dried stock, flooring, precision-milled material

Blanket Wrap

Moving blankets and furniture padding for custom-fabricated pieces, finished furniture, and specialty items that require surface protection beyond what strapping provides.

Best for: Custom fabrication, mantels, tables, finished pieces

Crating

Custom-built wooden crates for high-value items, fragile pieces, or material shipping via common carrier. Crates are built from scrap reclaimed material at our shop.

Best for: High-value items, out-of-state shipments, fragile pieces

Delivery Experience

More Than Just a Drop-Off

Flexible Scheduling

Morning, afternoon, or specific time-window deliveries available. We work around your project schedule, not the other way around.

Job-Site Placement

We do not just drop at the curb. Our drivers place your lumber where you need it on-site, including garages, backyards, and upper floors with boom service.

Material Protection

Lumber is strapped, wrapped, and protected during transit. Finished pieces receive additional padding and weather protection.

Real-Time Updates

Receive a confirmation call or text when your delivery is en route, along with an estimated arrival window.

Pickup Available

Prefer to pick it up yourself? Our Minneapolis yard has a drive-through loading area. We load your vehicle with our forklift at no charge.

Return Trips

Have reclaimed lumber to sell? Our trucks can pick up material on the return trip from a delivery, saving fuel and emissions.

Will-Call Pickup

Pick Up at Our Minneapolis Yard

Save on delivery costs by picking up your order at our yard. We have a dedicated drive-through loading area with covered staging, and our forklift operators will load your vehicle at no charge.

Yard Hours

  • Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Sunday: Closed
  • Holiday hours posted in advance

What to Bring

Bring a truck, trailer, or vehicle with adequate capacity for your order. We can help estimate the size vehicle you need when you place your order. Straps and tie-downs are recommended — we have extras on hand if you forget. All pre-paid orders are staged and ready when you arrive. Walk-in purchases are welcome but subject to availability.

Forklift Loading

Our forklift operators load your vehicle carefully, distributing weight evenly and strapping loads securely. If your vehicle cannot be forklift-loaded (car trunk, SUV), our team will hand-load smaller orders. Loading typically takes 10-20 minutes depending on order size.

Job-Site Requirements

Preparing Your Site for Delivery

A little preparation ensures your delivery goes smoothly. Here's what we need at the delivery site for safe, efficient unloading.

Access Width

Our standard flatbed requires a minimum 10-foot wide access path (driveway, alley, or road). For boom truck deliveries, we need 12 feet of width plus overhead clearance of at least 15 feet for the crane arm.

Ground Conditions

Forklifts operate best on solid, level surfaces — concrete, asphalt, compacted gravel. Soft ground (wet lawn, mud, sand) requires plywood mats for the forklift. Let us know about ground conditions so we can bring mats if needed.

Overhead Clearance

Check for low-hanging power lines, tree branches, and structures above the delivery path and placement area. Our forklift mast extends to 15 feet; boom truck needs 20+ feet of clearance. If lines are present, contact your utility company in advance.

Placement Location

Have a specific location in mind for material placement. Ideally, a flat, level area close to where the material will be used. Covered areas (garage, barn, under eaves) are preferred for weather protection. Mark the spot before the truck arrives.

Weight Limits

Our loaded trucks can exceed 30,000 lbs. Check that your driveway, parking area, or access road can handle the weight. Newly poured concrete (less than 28 days old), septic tank locations, and underground utilities should be flagged before delivery.

Someone On-Site

We recommend having someone present to direct placement and confirm the order upon delivery. If no one will be present, provide clear written instructions and authorize a specific drop location in advance.

Large Loads

Semi-Truck & Multi-Stop Logistics

For commercial projects, multi-building installations, and large-volume orders exceeding 5,000 board feet, we coordinate full semi-trailer deliveries. Our logistics team handles route planning, permit acquisition for oversize loads, and multi-stop sequencing.

45,000 lbs

Max semi-trailer payload

53 feet

Maximum trailer length

Multi-Stop

Sequential delivery routing

Multi-stop routes allow us to load a single trailer with material for multiple job sites and deliver in sequence along an optimized route. This reduces per-stop delivery costs for contractors managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Pricing

Transparent Delivery Rates

We keep delivery pricing simple and predictable. No surprise fuel surcharges, no hidden fees, no after-the-fact adjustments. You know the cost before we load the truck.

Delivery cost depends on three factors: distance from our Minneapolis yard, load size and weight, and any special equipment requirements (boom truck, extended forklift reach, etc.).

Free Delivery

Orders over $500 within Zone 1 (core Minneapolis/St. Paul) receive complimentary standard delivery.

Standard Delivery

Flatbed delivery with forklift unloading. Pricing based on zone and load size. Quote provided with your lumber order.

Boom / Crane Service

Heavy beam placement and elevated delivery. Quoted separately based on equipment needs and duration on-site.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Delivery

What does "free delivery on orders over $500" mean exactly?

Orders totaling $500 or more (material cost, not including processing fees) within Zone 1 (core Minneapolis/St. Paul, approximately 15-mile radius from our yard) receive complimentary standard flatbed delivery with forklift unloading. This applies to a single delivery — split shipments or multiple deliveries from the same order may incur additional charges. Boom truck service is always quoted separately.

Can you deliver to a residential address with a narrow driveway?

Yes, but with some considerations. Our standard flatbed trucks are 8 feet wide and need a minimum of 10 feet of clear width for safe navigation. For narrow driveways, tight turns, or overhead obstructions (low branches, power lines), we may use a smaller truck or stage material at the curb and hand-carry it. Let us know about any access challenges when scheduling so we can plan accordingly.

Do I need to be present for delivery?

We strongly recommend someone be present to confirm placement location and inspect the material upon arrival. However, if you cannot be present, you can designate a specific drop location and pre-authorize delivery. We will take photos of the delivered load and text them to you for confirmation. You have 24 hours from delivery to report any issues.

What are your delivery hours?

Standard delivery hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We offer AM windows (7:00-12:00) and PM windows (12:00-5:00). For commercial job sites, early morning deliveries (before 7:00 AM) can be arranged to avoid traffic and meet construction schedules. Saturday deliveries are available by appointment with a weekend surcharge.

Can you deliver long timbers and beams?

Yes. Our flatbed trucks handle material up to 30 feet long as standard. For longer timbers, we use an extended flatbed or arrange for a semi-trailer with proper overhang permits. Beams and timbers over 20 feet long require boom truck service for safe unloading. We coordinate flagging and traffic control for oversized loads on public roads as required by Minnesota DOT regulations.

What happens if there is weather on delivery day?

Light rain does not typically delay delivery — all loads are strapped and can be covered with tarps. Heavy rain, ice storms, or snow may require rescheduling for safety. If we need to reschedule, we contact you by 6:00 AM the morning of the delivery to arrange the earliest alternative date. Kiln-dried and finished material is always transported in enclosed trailers regardless of weather conditions.

Can I schedule delivery for a specific time?

We offer AM (7:00-12:00) and PM (12:00-5:00) delivery windows as standard. For an additional fee, we can narrow the window to a 2-hour block (e.g., 9:00-11:00 AM). Exact time-specific deliveries (e.g., "arrive at exactly 10:00 AM") are available for commercial accounts and large projects with scheduling coordination.

Do you ship out of state via common carrier?

Yes. For customers outside our direct delivery range, we can arrange shipping via common carrier (LTL freight or full truckload). We palletize, strap, and crate material for safe long-distance transport. Freight costs are quoted based on weight, dimensions, and destination. Typical transit time is 3-7 business days within the continental US. We provide tracking information once the shipment is picked up.
